Compliance and Ethics

Brazos Electric is committed to the highest ethical standards and integrity and we are committed to achieving compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Our HR Employee Handbook formalizes these standards by outlining our code of conduct and other key policies, providing employees with guidelines of ethical conduct important to Brazos Electric. Our employees are accountable to these guidelines and we encourage people to report concerns to the contrary.

Reporting Process

If you observe or become aware of suspected violations of compliance or ethics with any applicable law, regulation, rule or Brazos Electric policy or procedure, involving an employee, member of management or board member, you may confidentially and anonymously report the wrongdoing or your concern by one of the following methods:

  • The following will not be handled through the Ethics Hotline:

  • Comments or inquiries regarding Brazos Electric's proposed transmission lines. These will be referred to Brazos Electricís CCN web page; if a CCN proceeding is pending.
  • Complaints made to an external entity such as a governmental regulatory body (e.g., PUCT).
  • Employee suggestions for improvement. These should be submitted anonymously through the Suggestion Box or via email:

  • Safeguards

    No Retaliation: Making a good faith Compliance and Ethics Report through the Ethics Hotline will not result in retaliation in any form.

    Confidentiality: Compliance and Ethics Reports and information generated during any investigation will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law, and will be disclosed on a strict "need-to-know" basis.

    Anonymity: Maintaining strict anonymity, while permitted, may make a thorough investigation difficult, depending on the Report. Information provided in a Compliance and Ethics Report may be the basis of an internal and/or external investigation by Brazos Electric into the issue being reported. It is possible that as a result of the information provided in a Compliance and Ethics Report the reporting person's identity may become known to Brazos Electric during the course of our investigation.
